Dana's love life is as bad as her green thumb... which is black as death itself. But maybe with enough effort, and a makeover, she can find Mr. Right.
In Un-Dateable, physical therapist Dana Jamison comes to grips with her glaring lack of a love life. Her mother likens it to her ability to neglect a potted plant to death in less than two weeks. Her best friend thinks she needs to throw herself into the dating world and find herself an orgasm-buddy. Doggedly, she sets Dana up with one horrifically strange man after another with absolutely no success.
Until she matches Dana up with Dean Coulter, a hot young doctor who treats her like gold, feeds her Chinese, and makes her body sizzle with lust. Dana and Dean move from dating, to sex-capades, to nearly being a couple.
But there’s something missing--she’s not in love with Dean. Dana’s in love with Gus, the abrasive, though handsome, plant nursery owner who helps her in her hapless efforts to keep her potted plants alive, along with her hopes for a love life.
With the good doctor suddenly proposing and Gus turning the sexual heat up on her, Dana must decide which man is the one for her, before she loses them both.

I didn't make it past the fifth chapter. The heroine comes off as pathetic, hyper-emotional, and immature. The hero is described as looking "scared", "terrified," and so on at the sight of the heroine. He's afraid of her because she nearly killed a plant? And the heroine hates him for ... well, I never quite figured out why. He seemed like a perfectly nice (albeit easily frightened) guy. He never came across as making fun of her or anything else she seems to think, but she hates him.Side characters ... the mother is horrible, the best friend is crass and tacky, the ex-boyfriend is disgusting.
Plot ... by chapter five, the main theme is trying to keep the plant alive.
DNF (Did Not Finish) this one. I just didn't like anyone or anything about it. Would not recommend it to anyone.

UnDateable A Novel edition by Alice Bello Stephanie Lott Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Really great read.
Boring- I didn't finish this story.
A sweet love triangle story with the under dog Gus the handsome doctor Dean and the physical therapist Dana. Enjoyed reading at my leisure but couldn't put it down. I had to see what happened next.
Alice Bello is a very talented author who keeps you on your toes. Can't wait to see what else she has up her sleeves. One- Click today.
I did not like this book too much, the characters were one-dimensional and unrelatable. However, this book is not the worst I've ever read.
It took a while to build up but I liked this story. Dana is our lackluster hero who wants to be loved but keeps finding she can't keep a relationship going. This theme also reflects in her plants until finally she is nudged into keeping one alive by her mother. with that new enthusiasm, she sets out to find a good guy. And when she finally finds Mr Right, he's actually not the right one for her.
A passionate affair with enough drama to keep you hooked and a leading man who doesn't do the whole "I'm male, hear me roar" - refreshing change.
The story is decent but I hate her best friend! I'm sorry but if my best friend went after not one but two of my exes I would be questioning the friendship and get loyalty! Dana was naive and tried on her bff for the majority of the book but I never felt like her bff had her best interests in mind. She seemed selfish and honestly ruined the book for me.
Full review to follow as I'm only 91% through but I honestly had to vent about Bess (the bff?)
